Pipe fish suggestion

Whats best hardy pipe fish for a 75g with few community fish, corals , and lots LR

I have a mandarin and I have a 20g fuge with pods, macro.

Isee there r few types of dragon face...is any of them ok?

can they be alone without a mate in dt?

Dragon face pipefish are hard to feed and will compete with the mandarin for pods so you may lose the mandarin and the pipes. If you want something hardy I recommend Banded Peipefish (Doryrhamphus dactylophorus). They will eat frozen foods.

Yes, much easier than a dragon face. Dragon Faces are difficult to get eating frozen foods.

Hadn't heard that.
Probably better to go with easy unless you know of some already eating frozen.

Will banded pipe fish hunt pods in live rock like crazy, competing with my mandarin?

I have established fuge external to dt, so should get enough pods tho I can't see if they r 2 small....isee lots of pods in my fuge front glass

My favorites are blue stripes. They live in pairs and spawn continousely. They do hunt pods but I hatch brine shrimp every day. The Blue stripes live for about 5 years. I have had quite a few of them over many years.

I have blue stripe pipefish and they are great, small but very interesting to watch had mine 6 months now and were a great addition to my tank the color are so nice

Yeah but I heard blue stripe pipe fish dont come out a lot, they hide....is that true? Thx.......

They do tend to stay in caves because thats where they hunt for pods.
