Clown Picking at Scolly

I noticed the other day that my clowns were doing their little dance together, and since then, I have noticed that the female is now starting to pick at my scolly that is basically right below the torch that they host in.

I also noticed that she is picking at the rock under the torch.

What do I do about her picking at the scolly, could simply moving it away from the torch help? I really don't to start moving anything unless it can actually help.

Have you tried telling her how it makes you feel when she picks at the scoly?

Anemonefish, will actually try to decorate or undecorate an area around their host. Usually the anemone does a good job of clearing corals aways and they just keep it clean.

It is pre spawning behavior, they will clean a site, literally strip it bare of coraline and algea to lay eggs.

At this point moving the scoly is your best bet.

I actually yelled at her, and she swam up the glass and then turned around and shook her tail at me, and then swam back and picked some more.

The weird thing is that I only got these fish in July, I never thought that there was any chance in a million years that they would spawn this quickly. I will be moving mr scolly away..

Its pre spawning behavior, Its gonna be a little while before you see any spawning but its a good sign of good husbandry.

Move scoly. Mine died due to clownfish hosting it kept on rubbing/nuzzling the mouth area. mau want to take action before its late

I will move it tonight when i get home. I dont think that it is trying to host it, as it is hosted in the torch with the male. But who knows.

That's exactly what I expect she will do-good that she does not have fingers. :groupflip


Move your scolly, she will kill it. Very standard pre spawn behavior.

Have to find room to move it to. I have to get my butt in gear and get my 75 done...
