Peppermint Shrimp has CLEAR BODY????

I got a call from my wife that my peppermint shrimp was acting weird, like it was not able to hold itself down in the water column and she said it looked weird.

I came home and saw it crawling around in the front of the tank like normal but its body is almost clear. Usually has the red color to it, but it is freaky, can actually see the insides of the thing.

I have been googling it for a while now with no avail. Can anyone help?

Your shrimp may have molted its shell , look for a shead shell around the tank that may look like a dead shrimp

When they are stressed, they also change their color literally transparent.

not sure it molted, haven't seen a shell that is what i thought at first...

Being stressed? Nothing changed in the tank, did a water change yesterday. If it was stressed would it be out in the open or hide? It ws out in open, but now i cant find it

Well I guess it may have been stressed! A few minutes later it got its color back to normal.

Question, does your peppermint nip on the polips you have on the first pic? I had two on my main tank, but I think they ate a mushroom and quite a few polyps, so i put them in the sump. I have heard that they nip on zoas and other polyps, just curious if you experienced anything like that.

Hmmmm he seems to go around and clear around them. But actually eating them? I don't think mine does. I have seen any evidence of that

It did look cool. But not normal.

Nahh I still think they ate them, since I moved those two, the corals are all open, and my one giant mushroom that they shred into multiple pieces, now became 5 separate mushrooms.
