Well, from my research there is little information to determine a male from a female blue dot jawfish. I currently have two in a nano. Yes i said two!!! One is new and the other has been established for 9 months. I took an educated guess with the second fish because my lfs had 4. Well my first one is fully orange with blue dots and has a full head as i would say(the established bdj). When i first bought him his head was orange and a dark body which transformed to bright orange. I assumed he is a male because of the bright colors. The second fish is a darker head and smaller. My guess this a female. Well when the second jaw was released in the tank, there is no fighting at all. They actually alternate a main hole that they both made. If i see babies in a mouth of one down the road, i can come to a final conclusion. My question to whoever reads this, do you have experience with two bdj? Please comment. Pictures will be uploaded later tonight.
