MY new wrasses

About a month or so ago I finally got my big sixline, which I've had for about six years, out so now I'm able to keep other wrasses..I have a yellow and I picked this guy up from a member here on the boards...it was sold to me as a Richmond's, but I think it's a male Melanurus

and recently got this female leopard...I took a pic while it was still in the bag thinking I wouldn't see it for a week, but it was out the second day and got a good shot..

Mike it's hard to tell, but i think the Melanorus wrasse has vertical stripes on top by the dorsal fin, it might be a Christmas wrasse

Nice Mike!!! Love them both as you may already know I simply love wrasses. Unfortunately for me my Mystery won't allow me to put any new wrasse in the tank. Best wishes with them, especially that leopard!

Nice looking fish....I am by no means an expert, but I have the same fish as your first pic and she was sold to me as a Christmas Wrasse and based on the research I did, they were right....the only thing I can't see from your pic is if he/she has a dot on the dorsal fin(my one a sole black dot).... my wrasse, is a very good tank mate and she loves to eat...she contantly is looking for food on the rocks and even hits the sand to stir it up and see what she can find....what amazes me is she is the biggest fish in my tank and when she goes to sleep at night I can never find where she rests..LOL..good luck with them!!

I believe richie and shark are correct in their observation. I also have a melanarus, and as stated the melanarus has vertical stripes in the shape of a "V" . either way a beautiful fish.

Awibrandy...I wanted a mystery as well, but after some research I decided on these...
both pick at the rockwork with the first eating everything, but the Leopard hasn't taken prepared foods yet

update...it's only been about two weeks,but finally the Leopard is eating frozen foods like adult brine and mysis and is in the Easter Time Zone too....LOL

the first wrasse is a melanaurus wrasse I have the same one and it my fav wrasse eats all the pest in my tank!!

cant tell if this is an old post or not im new here but that wrasse is actually not a christmas wrasse or a melanurus its actually a Male Hoevens wrasse i know because it took me 4 months to actually figure out what type of wrasse it was untill i spotted him on liveaquaria. beautiful wrasse i love mine
