In the past I was fine with having just a few fishes in my mixed reef tank, but lately the idea of having a community tank has grown in my head and has brought up this issue.

I have 2 ocelaris clowns, 1 dragonet, 1 yellow tail damisel and a hippo tang.
The hippo, as the biggest fish, bullies the clowns constantly and I want that to stop and at the same time I?d like to add a few more fish, probably a naso or purple tang, a pseudochromis and maybe a hawkfish.

I know that there will be fights in the beginning but I wouldn?t want any deaths and my biological filter has to adjust to the new bioload.
So, how should I got about adding those new fishes? Should I add two at the time or one by one? Maybe take all of them out, re-acclimate them and put them back in all at the same time?

I?d appreciate any suggestions.

not sure, how big Hippo is, but he will get way too big for a 75g...as will the Naso, and Purple. your tank is really not the right size for multiple tangs.
Pseudo and hawkfish may also be too aggressive
IMO... some wrasses may be better for you (not 6 line).

If you're removing fish, I would probably sell the hippo and damsel

+1 that tank is too small for what you are looking to put in.

I think a 75gal community with a bunch of smaller fish would look great. Smaller fish are so much more interesting than the bigger guys anyway. You'll get a lot more character.

Thanks for the advice guys. What kind of smaller fish would you recommend? Any wrasses? The problem that I might have is that I have a few sexy shrimps. Last time they didn't do well with a six line wrasse.
The hippo is 4 - 5" long

A few smaller fish that are interesting:
Tailspot blennie
Yellowhead jawfish
Jann's pipe fish
flasher wrasses
Various gobies
Coral Crouchers (Look like clown goby, but are actually a scorpionfish)

Several species of cardinal are good for that kind of tank. I like the Blue eyed cardinals myself.
Several wrasses, gobies, geometric pygmy "hawk" are cool, smaller anthias if you can feed them regularly, there are a ton of smaller fish if you start looking.
