Midas blenny starving ?

My Midas blenny has been with me for over a year is my fav fish just a few days ago I noticed he looks really skinny can see a lot of ribs !
He is very active and has nice yellow color but noticed as I feed him he eats one mysis then swims up to food like he's gonna eaT it but either spits it out or turns away
Should I try new food or is he sick ?

Will try live brine but heard has very littel nutritional value

Might not be getting enough food period. Try target feeding with a pipette. See if it's eating much at all?what other fish do u have in the tank and have u added any new fish ?

This fish has been in tank since day 1 he goes right up too food but spits it out

Matt, treat the tank with Prazipro. Sometimes the fish have internal worms that don't kill the fish right away but slowly starve the fish.You have nothing to lose but a couple of bucks fro the prazipro. I use it in every tank I own including the pond, it is a very safe chemical

On closer inspection the Midas has what looks like a bit of hair alge growing in tip of mouth

Althoght this blenny needs meaty foods it also does need some algae. Is it possible that you tank is so clean that it doesn't get this part of its diet?

Forgot a few days ago I feed the f ish the Midas was trying to eat but couldn't all the sudden he coughs up a huge house fly which was immediately eaten by one of my blue eyed cardinals any way midas can now eat flakes so ive been feeding IO marine chips every other day I hope that was the problem
