trying to catch a big wrasse with no success....he is too fast for the net. Any suggestions?

buy a plasitc critter cage, drill holes on one side near top, you can probably get him to swim in there.

anytime I need to take a fish out of the tank, I use the coke bottle trick. The Wrasse is always the first fish to go in the trap.

What kind and what size is it anyway?

Use a size 22 hook but cut off the barb. The wound will heal quickly.

I would use the inverted bottle trap on the wrasse. Like someone else said, wrasses are always one of the first fish to go in. Good luck!

Or get a fish trap and put rocks from your sump in the trap (wrasses love new rocks so they can hunt)...or actual fish food, but food never really works for me. Be very patient with the trap as it might take a while....maybe even place the open trap in the tank for a day or two so the fish become accustomed to the trap in the tank and they are not shy when it is near them....then place rock from you sump in the trap and go fish.
