Vortech Mp10 x2 noise?

Wierd questions. Some tell me that when a vortech is not ramped up 100% its not loud. But they become loud after 75% power.

So i was wondering would it be much quieter if i got 2 mp10s at 50% each than one at 100%.


Or will it be the same cause while they are less loud.... im using 2 less loud as opposed to one loud in the end its all the same?

The higher you crank them the louder they become, but 'loud' can be such a relative term.
Are you sure you are using the spacer (if your tank requires it) and that the Vortech is lined up properly (that can cause excess noise).

They really shouldn't be loud at all...

What size is the tank?

I dont have one yet. LoL Never seen one never heard one. But noise is a big issue with me. My return pump is annoying so im worried that these will be louder than my mag 9.

Noise wasnt really an issue with mine, it just kind of blends in with tank noise. I recently set it on Nutrient Transport Mode and its really annoying. Pulses for about 90 minutes then does full blast for about 30. The pulsing drives me nuts

For every person that says what you do.... there's one that says that their pump is LOUD. I may have to but one just to see and if its loud im sure they'll hold their resale value. So do you think it'll be quieter at 2 pumps at 50% over 1 at 100%

When lined up properly they shouldn't be loud at all.......to my ancient hearing.

Like Kathy said, everything is relative. What someone thinks is loud someone else might not. No different than someone saying they are expensive, while someone else buys three or four MP60wES's without a blink. Or one person's junk while another person's treasure. Should I go on? lol

Speaking of relative.... your probably just saying that so i can buy them off of you. :0) Kidding. Im thinkings maybe 2 mp10s over 1 mp40 for some odd reason. Can 2 mp10s do anything special when connected wirelessly? I want to run reefcrest so do 2 even work together on reef crest mode?

Internal powerhead will not be as loud as an MP10 on an effective setting.
I sit about 8 feet away from mine on 75% and I can hear it.
P. S. Masterswimmer is not trying to "get" you to buy anything. He only gives great, real world advice IMO.

I do not believe MP10's will work in sync with each other.

What size tank is this?

I was kidding about master swimmer. I thought i mentioned that in my post. And this is a 56 gallon tank. 30" long by 30" high and 18" deep.
