I took a chance with some cheap E-bay bulbs to see how things played out. 2 20K 150w double-ended bulbs. One didn't work, had to get replacmenet in mail. Just received new bulb. At first the new bulb wouldn't turn on, I left the ballast on and bulb turned on after an hour. WTH?
It burns a great blue! In comparison, the bulb that did work from my original order burns a whiter, purple spectrum now. From blue to purple in a few weeks? The filament on the new replacement bulb burns a great blue with a steady filament (stream). The (from original order, burning for a few weeks) purple bulb's filament is dancing...making me nervous. Instead of a steady stream of light.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Would appreciate some DETAILED insight into what I'm dealing with. ie: is the purple bulb dangerous with that filament?, etc...
The bulbs are Odessea? Or however they spell their name.
Thanks
