Title says it all. Primarily high end z/p's and sps. I'm planning on 2, but if it's overkill, then why spend the money? I don't wanna have to get 2 units, and then end up running them at like 20%/50% white/blue. I could always just get 1 if it's enough coverage, and run it at 40%/100% to at least utilize it more.

Im in the same boat. My brother had 2 over a 40 breeder long ways but he had the whites really low (mainly aesthetic reasons). Problem is with 1 I think you will get max 30 inches so 1 would be pushing it.

Maybe someone else can chime in and help us out.

Nice thing is that you start with one and the other later if you feel you do need another, IMO you will need 2. You really don't want to run 1 at 100% you'll toast everything under the light. I got Sol Blue's at Reef Geek, You could try Tito at Gotham Aquatics he's a vendor here and carries them.

You can get the optics at reefgeek. It's like about $25 per unit. Anyway reefgeek has a 2-4 week lead time. Tito doesn't have enough at the moment and the only places that carry them (won't name them) charge an arm and a leg... At about $100 premium

I have two on a marineland 200DD and i get good coverage. they are raised 12 inches from the waterline. I should be getting the 70 degree optics in about a week. with the stock optics I get good coverage except on the extreme edges, but I don't have any corals in those positions so it's not a problem. The optics can be ordered from AI, all you do is send them a work ticket which you can do in the contact up part and they will contact you quickly with the price which is $25 per unit shipped.

I would start with one and the optics and gauge your use from that point. Also try will at Aquatic Obsessions he is a vendor here and has them in stock, I saw them on Saturday.
