I just set up two AI SOL Royal Blue units over my tank. I'm just wondering - what settings have people used with the most success? How many timers did you set up? What % did you set for white, blue, and royal blue during each period? What are your results?

I set mine two basically two 12 hour photoperiods - daytime with about 70% white, 75% blue and 78% royal blue and nightime with 0% white, 1% blue and 4% royal blue. This was based strictly on what I thought looked good, and I'm wondering what better settings for the tank might be.

For what it's worth - I've also set a 33% chance of thunderstorms and put the lunar cycle on. I haven't upgraded the firmware - should I?

Thanks in advance for any input.

I would like to see some pics, I have no expeience with these lights, but they do sound cool. And today they are forecasting 100% chance of rain and snow lol

If you have any corals in the tank you should start off with 30% across the board otherwise you'll cook them. These lights are more powerful than eyes lead you to believe and easily bleach out those precious frags & colonies. Make small increases weekly (5% Max) until your corals are the happiest.

+1 I have 5 different timed settings so far. I have a max setting of 60% and like Keith said I too ramped these up in the last 5 weeks. You can check out my thread(pg 28-30) on my install and par readings. http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum/tank-threads/64544-here-we-go-again-500gallon-build-30.html
