best return pump

what are the top 3 return pumps. I need one for a 90 gal tank with a profles 3 sump?

Top 3 external or submersible? If the latter, I would say Eheim, quietones and mag drives

If submersiable, then it is defintely Ehiem first, I don't know how to rate the next ones in line. But I heard Quiet ones had restart issues. I don't know if they were fixed in the new models.

There are a lot of options. Lets find out a little before we answer this. External or Internal ? Are you running any other reactors off of the pump ? How much head will the system have ? How many times are you planning on turning over the volume in your tank ? Is this pump going in a cabinet ? Do you need a dead quiet pump ?

I just picked up a triton 4 for my 90 gallon. plumbed internal also can be ran external. its not silent but does run quiet. flow is pretty decent.

Running a quiet one 4000 internal for about 1 and half years without incident. I love the pump but Eheim IMO are aces, I have a small eheim on my sulfur denitrifier and you don't even know its there.

Eheim 1262 is a great pump, also very quiet.

Quietone I went through 2 and they ALWAYS have a problem restarting. Water change took me 30 minutes. Trying to get pump restarted took me an hr!
