+1 Eheim made heaters are build like tanks and I've never heard of one being faulty. I've grabbed a Marineland heater few months ago (a good deal it was) and while it's a good heater it's very inaccurate and I wouldn't put it in my tank without a RKL controller.

Eheim heaters???? bring back an old post.... I have a small 12gtank and a 12sump.. thinking about getting two 50w jager heaters. Are they fine by them selves or do i need to buy some kind of computer to run it???

Ive only heard good things about the jagers and bad things about JBJ....

I have there heaters still working from the early 90's. And to answer the earlier question. You don't need a computer to run them. I would always go with a slightly larger heater than needed as well. Just check the temp on your tank often once you put the new heater or heaters in to make sure they are holding the correct temp.
