Maxspect vs PFO Solaris

I am Planning on getting either a 48" PFO solaris or a Maxspect G2 170w I really like the specs of the PFO but they are out of business so replacement parts become very tricky. Maxspect g2 seems good but it lacks the many features of the PFO. Could anyone with real world experience please let me know on either of the units or both.

I love my two I5 solaris units, and I would recommend trying to get the I5 model. Another MR member 'pecan2phat' also has a few solaris models, on his tanks.
There seems to be parts available if need be.

well a 48" is gonna give alot more coverage then the 36", i have owned the g2 170w, if the tank is wider then 18" it wont give the coverage needed, but seeing they have a reflector kit and lense's now it might give a little more coverage, the 170w is perfect for a 65g or a 50g or 40g system

How can you tell the dif between the i5 and the older model

30 LEDs in an array for the I5 vs 25 LEDs in an array for the I4, H4 units. Power suppy is a rectangular box vs a square box and does not have a loud annoying cooling fan mounted on the box.
Best way to tell is to look at the LEDs, 30 vs 25.

I have a brand new I5 never used other than testing for light output, if anyone is interested.

Also, the I5 has a couple of green LEDs.

Its the 24" model, with 2 LED arrays. Assembled in the US.
