Got tired of paying $50+ every six months on those useless refrigerator filters so I jumped out the frig filter and installed this in the boiler room. The carbon block should last for years as long as I replace the $2.50 sediment filter once in a while. What the heck if I have to replace both it will only cost 10 bucks, sure beats $50+ for filters that clog in a matter of 3 months.

Yea my fridge filter only last 2 months. But It says it goes bad even if I don't use it at all. So i think its more of a timer in the fridge than actually going bad. Do you happen to have a Samsung as well?

Mine is a Kenmore Elite Double Door thingy and it to is run on a 6 month timer regardless of use it tells you to replace the filter.

Yea I don't know whats up with these fridges now. Mine looks nice with the LED lighting inside and touch screen on the front. But man you push one wrong button and you have to get the manual out to figure out what you did and what the hell all the symbols stand for.

I don't want high tech, all I want is for my freezer to freeze, the icemaker to make ice and the fridge to keep my stuff fresh. My brother inlaw has one of those professional series Kitchen Aid units with what I call theatre lighting effects.

LOL, I normally wouldn't have gotten one like this but they were closing the Best Buy near my house and the fridge was 3200.00 original marked down to 800.00, I talked them down to 750.00 delivered. It was brand new not a floor model and is still covered by Best Buys warranty.
