Vortech ES upgrade worth it?

I have owed a Vortech MP40W for a little over a year now. I'm thinking of getting another one, but I can only find the ES versions available.

Since I'm getting another one anyway should I upgrade the one that I have to the ES version?

Please share any experience with the upgrade and help me decide whether dropping another $100 is worth it.

Why not buy a used mp40w to save money and if you want to upgrade the drivers later on you can do so

I'm definitely looking out of a used one. But am curious to see whether people think upgrading to an ES is worth it.

I have two and wrote up a review. I don't think it's worth the extra 100 if you are on a budget. But if you are willing to spend, the lower power draw, LED indicators, 2 extra modes, and better tuning for nightlife are great.

Instead of finding a 40. Try to find a cheap mp20 and upgrade that with the ES kit.

the upgrade is not really worth it..just like anzt said--its no more than 2 modes more and you can extend night mode hour as well as night mode water movement.. to be honest with you the only reason i bought the upgrade was for the on/off button.. i hate having to reset everything from the original driver. also my night mode is off but 10 min every night. so i have to adjust every few days..i talked to ecotech about this and they said it needs a software update but i have to send it back to them..
