Just suggested this to a member and wondered how many people knew about these:

It's something I swear by for both beer racking and fish water siphoning (I don't use the same one for both purposes). You just put tubing on one end, stick the tube in the tank and pump once or twice to start the siphon. It's also much easier to control where you're siphoning from than soft tubing.
