well i picked up the 6x39w current nova extreme pro today... Im not impressed at all. The reflector is flimsy and paper thin. The wavepoint i had had a single reflector but it curved completely around each bulb and it was fairly thick. The reflector on the nova is slightly contoured but nothing like the wavepoint. The overall feel of the light is cheap and flimsy. The splash shield is not very secure and the mounting legs are terrible. Having said that, the fans are pretty quiet and the fixture is very bright. A long time ago I had a custom sea life pc fixture and I absolutely loved it. It was solid and thoughtfully designed. Its a shame to see that its legacy is so cheaply constructed. Anyone else have experience with these fixtures? Im curious what other people think of these lights.

To broaden the conversation a little do you guys think the active cooling mitigates the crappy reflector to some extent?

i had the 72 inch nova t5s
I had great growth with my zoas they just kept multiplying but i wanted to try something new
also had to replace bulbs often and wanted to keep heat low since i dont have a chiller
i switched to max spec leds which are incredible in color especially the actinics but my zoas are not that happy they seam to be shrinking and my candy canes too
all else is growing like crazy.... chalices, polyps, monti, bubble, frogspawn, and new sps is thriving well
just my two cents
overall i had good results with my t5s though
