Vortech Drivers

Is it worth updating to the new drivers for the MP 40? What are the advantages of the new over the older drivers beside ease of use? 100 Bucks is a lot for a driver update.

It depends on what you do with your Vortechs. If you kind of just set and forget them and aren't trying to accomplish any advanced wave-making goals then it probably isn't worth it. If you are looking for increased flexibility and a few more out of the box algorithms then it is worth it.

I wrote a review up. You're basically paying for 2 new modes (which don't make too much of a difference) and indicator lights.

If you decide to get it, you might have to buy the new power unit as well so the cost would be $150.

If you have an Apex controller, then get the WXM wireless module that controls the Gen2 controllers of the Vortech and you can change modes on the fly and make your own changing water patterns, slow down at night, etc.

I just installed the WXM controller and love it. !! It might be cheaper to do this, than to replace multiple controllers if you have the Apex controller. I have the WMX module controlling all 5 of my Vortech in my tank.
