Hi All

Does anyone know any non-stopping calcium reactor in the market? I'm using the Schuran Pico for a few years but still encounter the dripping problem. I think this is the easiest one to use. I also used the Korallin before with the same problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

What do you mean by non-stopping. calcium reactors drip the effluent into the tank, unless you want to have a steady flow.

however, a steady flow will provide too much calcium to a system. dripping provide the amount of calcium you need without going over your set calcium parameter.

Alex, that depends on the system size. I currently have a steady flow just to maintain my levels.
Immanuel, I found that if you make the PH in the reactor lower, you turn the media into mush and the little bits of mush get into the effluent output and clogs it. Once it turns to mush, your options are either to rinse out the media with RO to get rid of all the super fine particles or the easier way is to replace it. If the PH accidentally gets too low for 1 day, it probably won't be an issue. But over time it will. I also use the course media running around PH 6.8-7 and don't have the clogging problem.

I've always had just a steady drip, whether fast or slow. but always a drip never a flow. I kept my ph at a 6.7 without any problems of dissolving the media to mush or not having enough calcium in the system. My cal. levels were always around 450 to 470 and I kept a mix or sps and lps.
I did not know some had a flow.
Ming, does the media still dissolve at a higher PH with more flow? I've always had a lower ph with less flow.

I'm using the Schuran Pico which requires dripping all the time with continuing CO2 supply. Anyway, I will try to fix it and thanks for your suggestions.

The media still dissolves, just at a slower rate with the higher PH. But the higher flow makes up for that. About 6" of media melted in the past 2-3 months.
I believe it wastes a little more co2, but for me, its better then having the effluent clogged

I never really did anything specific to try keep it up. My PH is roughly 8.4 during the day.
Although things that may be helping me is my skimmer which pulls a ton of air Bubble Master 250 with 2 Sicce pumps, lots of flow, and a large fan blowing on my display tank surface whenever the lights are on.
