I'm looking to replace my wonderful aqualifter with a Rio pump for my overflow. I'm on my 5th pump in two years, even with a prefilter. I've found that loosening the screws under the aqualifter help it last longer before that crack develops on the top of the casing (maybe I'm just crazy and it doesn't matter).

Anyway,...does anyone know of a link or have info on the proper way to make the transition? What attaches to what? Any extra tubing I'll need, etc...

A Rio 800 for a 40 g breeder reef using a Model 3 Mag in my sump?

Thanks

I can't tell you anything about the Rio 800 but I have a Rio 1700 and I've had it for three years. Once a year I take it apart and give it a good cleaning, but other than that it has been running continuos for three years without one problem. The Rio 1700 puts out 640 gph, I think the Rio 800 puts out 225 gph. In my limited experience with Rio pumps their excellent.
