Problem with Durso Standpipe gushing water

From time to time, seemly at random my Durso Standpipe willstart draining funny. What happens is itwill start going into a drain cycle where there will be a rush of water intothe sump, followed by no water, then a bug gush of water again. This may go on for many minutes before it stabilizesitself and normal flow resumes. The bigproblem is the big rush of water nearly overflows the input section of the sumpand water sprays everywhere.


Is this a common occurrence and do you have anysuggestions on how to address it?

I haven't used a durso for a while. However there is probably an issue with the air holes on top or the height of the stand pipe in the over flow box.

+1 on the air holes, sounds like its going into a syphon.
