So I'm running a Mag 7 (external) and it's a bit too loud.
Coming from a Biocube, these larger pumps and set ups are all new to me. Wondering if you guys could recommend a quieter pump. I'm sure my neighbor would appreciate it. LOL

Is it hard pvc plumbed? Usually using a piece of vinyl tubing inbetween can help noise. Also as someone has noted a piece of foam underneath the pump. I would go with a different pump but its your tank and your neighbors lol.

Yes, it's hard plumbed.
Neighbor is my Dad so it's not that much of an issue. I was just being considerate more than anything else.
I personally would like something less noisy though.

i would give the big foam piece underneath the pump in addition to adding a piece of vinyl between the pump and the pvc to the tank. if not try an eheim its a little expensive but worth the money in reliability and in heat exchange :)...

+1 on the vinyl, even if you get an eheim [great pump]. my pump was vibrating from the basement, upstairs through the rigid pvc. added vinyl and quieted down.
