Nice, I saw that before but assumed it was the entire system. IT's actually just the pump if you read the description. I too was having a hard time finding a pump that would do just shy of 5'. Ultimately I decided to use a solenoid to go straight from my RODI in conjunction with the Smart ATO.

BUT I'm still trying to figure out a system to do an auto water change. I'll use an Apex as the controller. I'm wondering if 2 of these HydroFill pumps is my answer. One running from a 55G bucket of salt water, and another draining water from my tank. What do you guys think?

on second thought.. maybe I don't need that much lift If I fill into the sump instead. Is it better to add water to the DT or the sump when doing a water change?

Take a look at this thread. This is what I'm in the middle of setting up.

Nice! I'd scoop one of those puppies up for $200 as well

Did you end up getting an ATO setup? My tank is against a common wall with my basement utility room. There is a floor drain in that room that I was planning on using for waste water. My initial plan was to have 3 lines going through the wall into the utility room. One line for drain, 1 line for salt water, 1 line for ATO. I was going to have 2 55G buckets for salt water and RODI water. But then after some additional research I found out about solenoids. It seems silly to keep filling up a 55G bucket if I can just bring the water straight from the RODI. I wonder why more don't use that option.. afraid of flooding the place?

Flooding and something called short cycling the RO which can reduce the life of your membrane and result in higher tds water. The solenoid is good, I'm doing the exact same thing for RO (soon...) but it will be used to fill the ATO reservoir.

Well I was planning on using 2 solenoids for redundancy as well as multiple float sensors, but I didn't think about short cycling the RO, didn't realize that was an issue. I suppose I can have it fill up a reservoir, I was just hoping to eliminate that step.
