So the dryer at my house wouldn't turn on so my dad flipped some breakers to get that back up and running. In the mean time, I'm at work and get a call from my gf saying "the tank is off". I panic at this point lol but everything is fine. The surge protector my lights are in (with dial timers) is not working.

I have 2 surge protectors. 1 is for my lights which is plugged into another surge protector for the rest of my equipment which goes into the outlet. This can't be safe long term.

Besides a controller, what kind of surge protectors do you guys use with multiple outlets so I have enough room for everything? I am going to re-organize my sump area and wiring and label everything nice and neat this weekend. Also, it's just a regular outlet, should I install a special type of outlet instead? Sorry for the long read.

Any links/pics greatly appreciated. I need enough room for 4 timers (whites, blues, 2 peristaltic pumps for when I start dosing, just waiting for the equipment to come from BRS), skimmer, fuge light, heater, wp25, mag 9, phosban 150, ato.

This is pretty popular among reefers for its individual control over each outlet:

I inherited a few APC AP7900 few years back from decommissioning a datacenter, can setup timers and control it remotely. Only caveat is there's no physical power switches on it, so I don't put anything I need to shutoff immediately on it. http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=ap7900&tab=features

sounds like your looking for power strip not surge protector. i would change wall outlet to gfi.

Thanks, I am looking for either/or. I need a power strip/surge protector. Something to protect my equipment and also have enough outlets. I need at least 10 outlets on a unit. I usually have my return plugged in to the wall separately so it's easy to unplug when doing water changes.
