MH bulb recommendation.

It's time to replace my mh bulb in my current mh/t5 combo on my 45g

I remember reading a very interesting thread regarding different k and brand that was highly recommended. I don't know anything about my except that its 150w. Help suggestions? All the t5 are blue plus bulbs.

I guess im looking for one thats best for growth without being to yellow

Phoenix 14k was the best 150w de bulb that I have used.

I have never tried the Phoenix, but for me it is Radium all the way. On an electronic ballast for the new version.

Yes stay away from ushio 14k no blue in it at all or Hamilton 14k too yellow as well aqua medic are expensive and their 20k is more like 13k color xm 20k as nice colors but low par so growth will be slow!! But what colors good luck

HEXARC blue 14k DE bulb. not really any yellow in this bulb. i have a spare bulb if you wanna see how it looks. It has a really nice crisp and clean look.

That's for the tips guys. I ordered the Phoenix. I hope it has good color and growth. It doesn't really need to be that blue since my fixture i have 4 blue plus bulbs for the blue color

bulbs will display a different color depending on type of ballast also, i always liked the phoenix myself

When I had my mh system I used reeflux 12k. Nice color and great growth from my sps.

i usually post with the reef app on my iphone. unfortunately it doesnt work. once the new update comes out. ill post a pic. the pheonix is a more white/blue as opposed to the stock one which was yellow. the tank looks much better. I hope the growth will be better too
