Hey Everyone,

I picked up a stand and canopy from a fellow member here hours ago. The stand is huge which is great! Inside the stand I have 68 inches by 21 inches by probably 35 inches as the height to play with as I didn't measure the height since the stand is 40 inches so I really didn't care lol. I know they say the bigger the sump the better but can I achieve really good filtration with the use of filter socks, pond matrix and uv sterilizer with a 2400 or 2900 gph return pump in a 65 gallon sump or 75 gallon sump or 90 Gallon sump?

I would like to get away with the 65 so I have more then enough room for another tank next to the sump for quarantine, isolation and so on.

Also I'm thinking about running it without baffles

The more water a system has the larger your margin of error with parameters are. On a 210 you can get away with a 65 gallon sump. As long as everything you need fits inside and it doesn't over flow when you shut down and get that 1" - 3" of water draining into the sump then you fine. You can get a 48" X 18" deep tank. As far as height you really don't want to go crazy because then it will be hard to get things in and out when servicing. I would go 18" to 20" on the height. A standard 75 will work very well in that stand. A 75 will be more then enough, You will have at least 30 gallons in it with 10" high baffles.

I'll mostly likely be shooting for a 75 gallon sump then and maybe trying the "kiss" method of having no baffles. I will have to see as I will probably do freshwater :( and hopefully work my way back into salt.
