AI new wireless controller & AI Director

maybe someone can help me out. i just got two AI Sol Blues. Do i need both the controller and the director? or it's one or the other enough? what other equipment(s) do i need?

So i would need just one...either the Director or the Controller, correct? Which is better? Does the Director have all of the Controller's features/options?
