DAS EX-2 Skimmer Depth

They dont make these anymore, so information is hard to find. anyone run one of these and know what the proper depth is? I am running it in sump since the pumps leak.

Or since its a recirc skimmer and I can control the amount of water it gets, does it matter?

does not require a depth cause it is a recirc, but i will telll you this, make sure to clean the aquabee pumps often and make sure magnet is good and not swollen at all and clean the shaft with aluminum ( lowest grit of sand paper there is
