Skimmer trouble!

Hi guys, i bought a skimmer it was working fine up until yesterday when i noticed that the skimm level in the collection cup went down. I had it set to almost the top and was skimming perfect now i notice its skimming right near the bottom of where the inside of the collection cup is. Any idea on why this is happening??

Is it new or used ?
How long has it been running?
Skimmers have breakin periods also depending on the parameters in your tank will affect skimming how high or low the levels will be in the skimmer..
Also look at the inlet of the skimmer and make sure that nothing is restricting the inlet water flow which could cause the level inside to drop..

Its a used skimmer i picked up from reefoman on tuesday i believe. Nothing in the inlet im sure i checked this morning, and water level is the same as always. Parameters are the same also.
