Since Sandy wanted my tank, she just took it. So I'm in the process of rebuilding... in my journey, I've constantly come across hobbyists using Lifereef sumps. I've always used a DIY sump, currently a 20L with the usual baffles. I'm curious what a Lifereef sump offers that a DIY doesn't or can't. If you're a Lifereef sump user, can you chime in and post your experience/insight?

I have a call in with Jeff @ Lifereef for my sump, and it looks like it won't be built until April

Thanks for your time.

Sorry for the loss of your tank.

I've never had a life-reef sump but looking at some of their sumps I guess it can offer you a place to hold your probes and they can also be custom built for any stand.

My sumps have always been very simple and on my last tank I had a 30gallon long with one baffle and a 40gallon breeder without any baffles.

Jeff does do some nice work but I think customking is also a great sump builder and he's probably less expensive.

I have a 20gallon long if you want for free. It's drilled in the upper right hand corner but you can plug that.

Thanks for the kind offer, ECFencing. I'm currently using a 30g as a sump as well. Spoke with Jeff @ Lifereef, incredibly knowledgeable guy and very helpful. However his work commands a good chunk of cash, and a pretty long lead time (April delivery). I might've secured a used Lifereef and give it a try.

Thanks again, for your reply and offer.
