Ok, I am in the process of moving my 300 to make room for a beautiful 700g. Temporarily setting up a quick 240 for as a hotel until the 700 is set up. I have been reading alot about dc pumps. I havent seen too many setups with these pumps in play, so i was curious as to anyone with any feedback. I have a variety of external pumps from iwakis to darts but i have found that the dc pumps are more cost effective to run especially since my plans include a cl. any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You can not drop a number like 700g without posting pictures. I think it's is against the rules. If not then I have some editing to do with that.

I have the 10" RLSS skimmer on my 325. It uses a DC pump. I am very pleased with the skimmer, but what amazes me is the pump is dead silent!! It is also a variable speed pump with three settings. I keep it on the highest one, but others may see a use for variable. It has a slow start up feature so the pump doesn't start at full power. It also has a feeding timer. Push the button and the skimmer shuts down for 10 min. and then re-starts. Not sure about the other DC pumps out there. Mine is only a few months old so I have no experience with long term liability.

ok, ok, i will start posting pics. just finished the plumbing on the 240 and going to start filling it. then moving out the 300 to make room for the 700. its a glass tank(i dont do plastic, no offense for those who do). Will post a couple in the next day or so. then to the welding of the stand together using 2.5" square tube steel and coating it with rhinoliner, then to get some serious muscle to move 1600 lbs of glass. and thank you for everyones support. from a post here and what i read on reef central, i think the dcpump is the way to go.

the black tang, and all the other fish, are doing good, including the 'main' fish that I wanted...the Multifasciatus angel...
I have them in a separate 130g tank that I just added to my system, so that I can watch them for awhile, before adding them to the DT.

I use a Hammerhead Gold to run the whole system, which is a 450g DT, with a 200g sump (and now an add'l 130g reef/holding/frag tank)...thru a manifold, it runs the tank returns, chiller, skimmer, reactors and 'holdng' tank!

Did you get a hybrid angel? The one with the maze pattern or just a regular one?
