Skimmer issue

My skimmer is making bubbles but im getting no skimmate foam. Its been about 3 days now. my skimmer is always producing foam so this is odd. I took out the pump and cleaned it also cleaned the air intake line but still not doing anything other then creating bubbles. I clean the skimmer cup once a week and right now its real clean. Last time it worked i put fresh RO/DI water in the sump but i put it by the skimmer which i never do and thats when the problems began. Any help will be appreciated

Did you add new carbon or any other type of chemical filtration recently? Are the bubbles created by the pump in the skimmer bigger than before?

the bubbles seem to be the same size. i did add new carbon on sunday but i add new carbon every 6 weeks and this never happened to me. i did add a new reactor for the carbon went from two little fishie 150 to a pecision marine

The skimmer should start up again in a few days. I've had that problem with new carbon. It could also be that the PM reactor makes better use of the carbon which is sucking the nutrients out of the water before the skimmer can get to it. Also try to diassemble the pump and see if any hair algae is caught in the impeller making it draw less air. Good luck!

thanks macro. i did take it apart and saw nothing. ill wait couple more days and see what happens
