NAC7- mesh or needle wheel?

Any NAC7 users prefer one over the other, performance- wise? Also, do you find the needlewheel to be noisy as compared to the mesh?

I have been using the mesh for about 2 yrs. now- it runs silent, but I want to get the best performance; when I run the needle wheel there is a noticeable hum- but if the performance is better I will put up with the hum.
