VorTech pump users please chime in

Hi, I am setting up my Vortech MP40, just want some feedback from fellow memebers/users which mode you chose/think is best to set the pump on and why.

I like reef crest mode. Its always varying and has a great range of water it moves.

Hmmmmm, I was kinda leaning toward the TSM (tidal swell mode) cuz its like combining all of the modes into one. Any thoughts on the TSM mode?

Why not try a setting, leave it for 4 or 5 days, see how everything responds and then try a different setting....lather, rinse, repeat. You'll eventually hit upon a setting that your system 'likes' the best.

I actually don't like Reef Crest as much when I'm at home because I feel like you can hear the pump ramping up and down more so than on other modes.

I find the short pulse mode to be most annoying

Glad someone posted on this.. I think about this same question everytime I look at the pump. I typically toggle between Crest and Lagoon.. I like Crest the best so far. I have one on my 57 Rimless Reef and one on my 144 Half Circle FOWLR for good water movement.

I just upgraded to an Apex with the WXM...it's the shiznit.

love the mp40s. just got a second one on my 75g and water movement is great. I have them running in NTM and everything's been doing fine. I have them running at about 50% so the wind up noise is minimal on both units. I change to TSM every once in a while. The wxm controller sounds great. Quick question... can you use that with an apex lite or you need the variable ports that come with the regular apex. (I have the apex lite)
