Team, I am designing a new 180g system and I am currently reviewing the return system. In my design, I was trying to have a random alternating flow return to my tank. In my research, i came across the following links which are typically used to a lawn sprinkler system but could not find any reason why it could not be adopted to a tank. Has anyone used these before? or have any input on if it's a good idea to look at? thanks again!

Joe

FYI - I would look at a controller (like the reef angel) to control each valve independently.

The couple issues i would be concerned about would be 1 what is the plunger that opens and closes made of is it metal or pvc or is any of the parts going to rust in the salt water. 2 the constant changes in water pressure when they open and close all the pluming would have to be good and tight. its a good idea but at the same time you could jest get a couple vortex mps or a controller for your power heads and get the same results.

I spoke to the team who sells these Valves..There is absolutly no metal parts on the inside of the valve. They are made to actually be withstand being fully submerged underwater and outdoors..so extreamly rugged. They are std closed and require a small current to open the valve (and 15psi of water pressure). At $20/$25 per valve, I can hook up 4 returns to the tank for $80 (plus a controller) compared to an ocean motions at $400. and the valves gives me better control and random water flow over the ocean motions...

Thoughts?
