Refugium build

I'm building a refugium for my tank and was wondering if there are any opinions on substrate, dsb or mud?

i use the fiji gold reef mud in mine

does that has too be replaced every 6 to 8 months??:scratch:

i herd the mud is were its at....no personal experiance myself, just by word on the street...

ive never replaced it.. i dont see y you would its a very fine "sand" full of nutrients and when it becomes live its full of bacteria and micro organisms to help with the filtration of your system.

I used the same substrate as my tank. Crushed Aragonite.

I am using dsb too

Same substrate as my display with some peices of rubble rock.
