Reefkeeper 2 Died HELP

I think my reefkeeper 2 just died. Lights suddenly went off, and when I went to check the temp I found the face of the RK is also off.;(

Now what? I know they have been discontinued. I am not all that savvy about these, and need something that is as easy as my old RK with 8 outlets.

AC Jr's also have the 8 outlets and are easy (ish) to program.


Does anyone know if the 8 outlet piece from the RK is compatible with a head unit from the AC Jr?

No way! I have a reefkeeper 2 still and love how easy it is. Hope this doesnt happen to me.

Did you try unplugging it from the wall and replugging it? Also, I dont know but they might have a fuse on the outlet section

Could be a blown fuse in your RK2. Check Page 30 of http://www.digitalaquatics.com/downloads/manual_RK2_v2-5.pdf

Thanks Kat, Constantne, Widdy! Sorry, I was running around the house looking for a surge protector, and just got back to lap top after trying to remove that little grey button on the side of the outlet thingy with no success. I have one of my sons (the automotive tech) looking at it now.

Ok it is the gray button on the side. Only problem is that it would not come out no matter what. I finally had to actually break the black cover seal around the outside of it in order to grab that little gray plastic cap out to get to the fuse. I got the fuse out, but it is also grey. It is not the normal clear glass fuse that you can actually see if it is blown.

Oh well, guess I have to wait till tomorrow morning once RS opens.:screama:

It's a ceramic fuse, hence the color.

I remember Tobin having the same issue with his RK2 awhile ago, he mentioned going to Home Depot. If you have a 24hour Home Depot near you, you might be able to snag one tonight.

Pic of the damage I had to do in order to get the fuse out, and the actual fuse. I hope a piece of duck tape will keep the spot dry, and protected from salt creep.

Yup.:flower: Went to lowes first thing this morning, and got a pack of fuses!
Only problem now is that I had to brake the casing that I guess protects the fuse cover.:screama: You think I can just put a piece of duck tape over it to protect it from salt creep & moisture from getting in it?

I imagine it's got something to do with the MH lights since it was working, and no sooner did the MH come on that the fuse blew.:headache:

Outlet #8 is fried!:screama::screama::screama::screama::screama:

Re-configured where things are plugged in. MH in outlet 4, PC in outlet 3, heaters in outlets 1 & 2, Fans in outlets 5 & 6.

One more thing, can't call MH outlet Metal Halide.lol Had to leave it as Light Other, or it won't work.:headache:

Time to start saving for the RKlite Plus!!
