Solenoid, float switch locally?

I was about to place an order for a float switch and solenoid from autotopoff.com. The prices are reasonable but was curious if i could pick up a solenoid and a float switch locally. I have a top off, but want to set up a solenoid to shut off the RO in case salt creep blocks the RO in.
