anyone ever modded a remora skimmer ?

ok 2 thing's i am thinking of doing to my skimmer, one make a slidable silicone on the bottom of collection cup that goes down into the body, will make a tighter seal with less air escape, second is make height ring into a tighter seal, same reason, but going to try separately and see how and if each improves skimmer,

At most the tighter sealing ring may make it quieter, but I don't think either will improve skimming much. Air in the bubbles is what is important and any air that may be escaping is no longer in bubbles and doesn't make a difference. I did the tighter sealing ring thing to make the skimmer quieter and I know that didn't improve skimming

I extended the hose that connected the skimmer and the mag3. And put the skimmer in my sump. That basically took care of the noise.

Hi Rick,
I dont mean to hijack your thread, but I was also curious about putting a Mag3 on a remora, NOT remora PRO, which I believe uses the Mag3.

I wonder if anyone has ever done that.
