I have a hard time cleaning the algae from my glass due to limited space between the rocks and glass, therefore I always put off doing it. By the time I NEED to do it, the algae has a bit of hold and you have to scrub a bit to get it off, then I have to arrange the rocks and a couple corals back to where they were. I made a simple Scraper in about 30 seconds. You need Plastic Razor Blades and a length of 1/2" PVC. Cut a diagonal slice into one end of the PVC and insert the blade. The narrow cut holds the blade tight and square. Now I can reach everywhere without a problem.
