The overflow presents a challenge

Build support brackets on each side of overflow. Basically adding additional support in that corner, but leave enough space to turn bulkheads. If i were home id snap a pic for you and would make sense. I assume you will be using "jack" studs for support. Thats how i had mine built Still a little tight but functional

I think if you use ply on top it will help distribute some weight for your tank
Othet option is build stand to tank specs then put ply on top to size of actual cabinet you want. Then add support to the bigger section

Stand in a stand is what you would be building

I would like to build a stand for my cube that is 48by36 wide would like to know if I can just use 2by4s . I want to place the cube on the left and a small frag tank on the right that is 36by17. Any help would be great if a diagram with measurements would be even better and what type of screw should I use.

Hello.

2x4 will be fine. Use 2 1/2" to 3" woodscrews

I'm located in Stamford and would be happy to help you build this. If you have tools, great. If not i have everything we need to make this work.

That's cool I might take you up on that offer I went to Home Depot and got them to cut some for me 4 48's 4 36's I wanted the tank to be a little bit higher so I can work in the stand. And I got 4 33's tomorrow will screw the frame grab to more 36's and then see how many 29's I will need to support the legs. Will take some pics once I'm done.

Get something to use as a square that will help you get bettwr joints...or a square lol.

I also use 3 deck screws to help with corrosion instead of regular dry wall screws plus they stronger.

If I think of sonething else...also I was in such rush didn't seal wood going to be tough for me now..to paint but going to also I'm looking for something to seal that has color so ready to distinguish what's painted and not...

That's good. Send an update picture. I still not comfortable with all that weight but everyone says it's fine but deep down nervous. Would hate to see water on my Hardwood..i scratched new floors already moving tank around..my girl didn't ***** that much. That's why I put tank on ground floor cause if living room floor had been damaged then I would be out lol..i put plywood on top of bottom 2x4 for sump to sit flat also...

Looks good so far
I'm not sure if your going to get more wood cut, sounded like it, for support legs

In front of the existing legs, I would put a pc which helps distribute weight from top of stand (jack stud)
I'm home from vaca if you want to pm me cell or email ill forward ya couple of pics from my stand

Going to place the 3 other post for the support of the tank itself so I have a quick question now the inner post is the front right corner supported am I going to place that how I have it in the pic or the short way?
