I'v been doin some research on the web as well as MR about acrylic glue and alot of what i'm seeing used in fish tanks are Weld-on products. now i dont have a problem buying the product and fabricating my project myself but time is money. and was wondering if i had a glass shop cut and put together the acrylic peices they might not be using weld on.

question being... if acrylic glue "melts the 2 peices to bond then evaporates and in time cures" then shouldnt any acrylic glue be fish tank safe?

Just to be clear - what are you looking to glue..a sump? a tank? frags?

We use CA Gel glue to glue frags.
Weldon products aren't used 'in' a fish tank full of water to glue anything but are commonly used to glue acrylic panels as they do 'melt' the plastic together.
For tanks made of glass, silicone is used to hold them together.
