Brain coral will not open

no joke! It was at the new petswarehouse store.. The only reason i bought it was because i was so impressed.. Paid 120 for it.. If I get it back to full size i will post pics..I would have gotten one at GC but this thing was huge

Vinny I had only a yellow tang in a 120 with a mandarin & six line wrasse.
It seems based on this info that tangs might nip open brains.

I had the same problem. And i found out that it was a fish that was picking at it. Maybe your tusk is picking at it. When i removed the fish it opened up.

LOL what happened to it? The Purple is doing great. Make sure any of your other fish are not picking at it or it wont open up.

the more i cover it up the more its opening.. Less light and flow seems to be working... Also have the fish occupied with the mirror... Its gotta be one of the three factors

less light i notice when I had my brain and i statting running HO t-5s it was closed up could well be the light factor. Keep it where it is now and feed and see what happens from there .

hey man it will open up soon my brain coral also did not open for the first 2 weeks i slowly moved him up and now he is doing pretty good.

hey vinny just checked out your FTS and your tank is doing great i see all of the rest of the corals are doing good I am sure it will open up nice
