Blue Xenia Eaten?

Hi Guys:

My Blue Xenia was doing really well until recently.

It looks asthough it's been weed whacked and there are just stems left on the frag.

Anyone have suggestions?

Here's the stock list:

1 Fasle Perc Clown
1 Cherub Pygmy Angel
1 Six Line Wrasse
1 Begai Cardinal
1 Algae Blenny
1 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
1 Peppermint Shrimp
Hermits and Snails

Pygmy might be the culprit I had one that used to pick at Xenia, frogspawn, softies, but he left SPS alone.

Do you think it would just turn one day and start picking at it?

It could happen. Mine wasn't always a picker, just started one day. Fish are like that sometimes.

I wish my fish would eat my xenia, I can't prune it back fast enough.

It is not always the fish that are the culprit.

In my case it was the Palau Neon Green Nepthea that attacked my Xenia. It totally destroyed it.

i have a hippo that one day had a taste for my xenia and cropped down a whole patch of it over a little while.

i had an angel and i swear he only ate pulsing xenia lol

my xenia just used to do that every once in awhile. It seemed like a natural thing. They shed everything down to the stems, and then over the next week to two weeks, they grew back larger.

Uh oh.

Well my white xenia is alright, nothing seems to have gone after it- if it is a fish.

The stems are there - do you think it will grow back just from the stems or should I trash it?

It will grow back. Heck my pompom that I scraped off of the rock is back.argggggggggg

tried killing mine off, even crashed my tank and it didnt kill all of it off

My clown is very territorial over the frog spawn she sleeps in. If xenia grow near it she will eat the heads off leaving only the stems.

My peppermint shrimp wiped out all of my xenia when it was in my 12 gallon. I started to feed it a pellet or two and then it laid off the xenia.
