How to kill Xenia?

It started to grow in places I don't want to.

I'm not looking to take the rock out, since I have frags on it.

Anyone try injection methods?

kalk will work, anything that kills aptaisia will kill xenia.

How do you "kalk"?

Kalkwasser? Calcium Hydroxide? Pickling Lime? All the same thing, basically you take this powder and mix it with a little water until it become a nice paste like goop, suck it into a syringe and squirt directly on to the Xenia. Covering it completely is much more effective though.

just be aware kalk will alter your water's chemistry raising alk/ca so you might want to pay close attention to your water's parameter while kalking.

If they are stuck in a hole, I'd cover the hole as well correct?

mix calcium (powder) with a little bit of water till it turns into a thick paste shut off pumps for a few minutes and cover the area you want dead with paste it will kill anything including coraline

Yeah you can fill the hole with kalk paste. make sure you don't do too much in a day though. spread put the killings over the week if you do it with kalk.

Lots of flow has worked for me.... you can also give it away for free here at MR.

You can also suck it out with a hose during a water change.

u can pluck out it(on some species), however it need to be done in a certain way so that it can be removed clean.

how'd you get it eventually?

Kalkwasser + water + needle injection.

I shut off the pumps, but some flew to my acro, stressing it a little bit.

Now I know better of doing it slowly.
