I recently mentioned to someone at an lfs store that polyps don't do good in my tank although most other things do: mushrooms spread like crazy, brain coral and leathers thrive, but my zoos don't (button polyps do however). they said i shoud dose with mag, iodine, strontium, and calcium. I've been told before that i don't need to do this for the types of corals i have. Any thoughts, and if i should, is there such thing as a multi-purpose addatives (all in one type of deal). Tank paramters:

72 gallong w/ fuge, 265 wt power compact (3 years old)
Nitrate: 5 to 10
Nitrite and amonia: 0
Ph: 8.2 - 8.4

thanks

R, maybe you could try dosing small amounts of kalk through a drip. I'm dosing kalk on my mainly softie/LPS tank and I'm getting great growth. Even my SPS(caps, birdnest) are growing pretty fast. Since I started with the kalk everything is better.

This is what I use and it works great and lets not forget its extremely cost efficient :D

Also I can't seem to keep pink zoas/palys, been 2 years and multiple tries but i cant get them to live. They always just melt away but evrything else in the tank begins to grow almost immediately, wierd. SOmetimes i guess things just dont like the environment they're in
