Acan Question

How many diffrent kinds of acan are there I bought one the other day, I looks like lord I think it is but when ever there is a sent of food in the tank or the light goes out the feeder Tenticals come out I thought it was just hungry I gave it a big feeding of clam today It sucked it all in. I thought this will fill it up but once again the moon lights came on and out came the tenticals, Is this normal for an acan I have 2 othere they eat but not so agressively, Could this peace just been starved of food, and will carm down in a week or so? or is there a few diffrent kinds of acans, this one looks like my othere lords it about 60 heads, will try to get a pic asap.....

Perfectly normal. They will keep putting out their feeders every night. Probably also after feeding your fish if you feed them a frozen food mix.

What are the names of the 3 - 4 kinds?

A. Lordhowensis, A. Maxima, A. Echinata, A. Subenchinata are ones I can recall. Each has a subtle difference in polyp size and shape. I recall at least 6, if memory serves me...

Forgive me but look em up in Google Images, if I spelled the names correctly. It might even suggest a corrected name if I misspelled.

Micromussa is also a variation, a proportional miniaturation IMO.
