zoas and polyp question

i just bought some whammin watermelons and star polps on monday and they still havent opened.this is a first for me.how long should i wait before i get worried.

did you epoxy the stars after i told you not too lol

zoas are wierd when the get annoyed sometimes they close for a few days other times i take em out of a bag and they are open same thing with GSP

OBV if they never open or die ill hook you up with another frag lol

no on the way home i stopped and got the gel.my skimmer went banannas shut it off for the night.my parameters are perfect.the clam is doing great.i know zoas get freaked during all that ruckus but usually in 24 hours i see signs of opening but so for not even a hint that they are even polyps

what kinda lights do you have again maybe they are just taking time to adjust

Do you still have the ailing brain in the tank? If so, you might want to remove it and run some carbon.

..then again, they are zoas, they might just feel like being tempermental.

no the brain is no longer with us.gave it a proper burial at sea

Do you usually run carbon? Did you do a water change after you removed it? (sorry about the loss, it was very pretty)

yes .i have carbon in my mesh bag.after my skimmer went beserk on mon.tuesday afternoon i did a 5 gal water change.i found brain tues morning.

ok, if they show no signs of opening tomorrow you might want to do another small water change and switch out the carbon too

thanks kathy.always a help.im going to buy a 2 little fishies reactor in the next 2 weeks also, so i can have a reactor for carbon.but i will refill my mesh bag

they still have not opened.5gal water change ,changed carbon the only thing i think i should try is moving them around.maybe there is to much flow.i dont see much flow in that spot but who knows
